Why Disney's attempt to sue Daily Wire over their version of a Snow White film, is bullshit...

Man, Disney trying to go after The Daily Wire with some form of legal action, just because they are making their own version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, really shows how fucking pathetic Disney has become over the last decade.

Let me make something clear folks;

The original Snow White story that was written by the Grimm Brothers, is in the PUBLIC DOMAIN. Which means, ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE, can take the story, and adapt it however they want to, depending on their interpretation.

HOWEVER...

When people create their own adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, then their adaptation of the story is their own exclusive copy that they have every right to protect. And as long as the next director or storyteller doesn't copy what that previous person or company adapted from the original story, then they have every right to adapt the original Snow White story however they want to.

BUT...

When you're adapting a story, you don't want to stray completely off course from the main source material, otherwise, your adaptation becomes an adaptation in name only, and the general public or fans of the original source material will end up hating or dismissing the result, and wondering why you wasted your time creating something that is an adaptation in name only.

One example; Dragonball Evolution.

When that movie came out in 2009, it royally pissed off the fans of the original anime and manga series because the adaptation strayed completely far off from the original source material. Hell, even the original creator of the Dragonball manga, Akira Toriyama, was reportedly so confused and pissed off by the end result of Dragonball Evolution, that he basically came out of retirement to create Dragonball Super in 2013 to continue the story of Dragonball where it last left off, and to give both the Japanese and global fans of Dragonball something to wash away the horrible taste that the live-action movie left in everyone's mouths.

Let me repeat that for the slow motherfuckers; Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragonball, willingly came out of retirement to write a continuation story of his creation long after he ended the manga and anime series ended years ago (somewhere in the mid-to-late 1990s).

Of course, he was also suffering from burnout at the time because Toei and FUNimation sucked all the fun out of what he genuinely loved to do... but that's a story for a different day.

Bottom line folks; Disney going after The Daily Wire with legal action for trying to make their own version of Snow White, is fucking pathetic.

Honestly folks, did Disney even try this when Universal Pictures made Snow White and The Huntsman and it's sequel?

Has Disney ever tried this when other film companies and production houses created their own adaptations of Snow White?

No.

Why?

Because once again, all these different adaptations of Snow White are what these different directors, screenwriters and creators, interpreted from the original story, and are not page-for-page ripoffs of the original Disney film from 1937.

And all these adaptations are the exclusive property and legally owned by whatever production house or film company made them, as long as they did not infringe on someone else's copyright.

...

So again, why is Disney basically threatening The Daily Wire with legal action over their adaptation of Snow White?

Cause unless The Daily Wire is going to create a Snow White film that is a ripoff of the original 1937 Disney film, then Disney has no fucking right to go after them with legal action.

I'm done.
